BBC After a fair bit of raw meat and a shock semi-final result, it was time for Marcus Wareing, Monica Galetti and Gregg Wallace to crown this year's MasterChef: The Professionals champion. Head chef at the Dog at Wingham, Kent Samuel McClurkin, has been announced as a contestant on this yearâs BBC programme MasterChef: The Professionals. In early 2017 Monica opened a new restaurant in London alongside her husband David. The name is a combination of the French word for mum and the Samoan word for Mary, the name of Monicaâs mother. Many congratulations to Craig Johnston, alumnus of Furze Platt Senior School, who has won MasterChef: Professionals 2017, fending off extremely strong competition from Stephen and Louisa.
